An interactive, LGBTQIA+ family art trail made by Lady Kitt collaborating with young people in Teesdale and Kitt's own children.

​

The trail contains 6 sculptures, hidden around The Witham gardens and building.

 Each one represents a different character.

There are  art trail guides available at the venue. Visitors are invited to explore the trail and learn about the characters.  Each character has a special skill or experience which helps them to understand things about other people which might be invisible, hidden or hard to see (like hidden disabilities, ​​​gender identity or sexual orientation for example).

 

The art trail is called Seek not Hide to put the emphasis on Seeking- each of us finding ways to be understanding about, welcoming of and generous to others- particularly people who have different experiences, cultures or lives to our own.

Visitors can interact and engage with the trail in a variety of ways:

1. Find the 6 characters
2. Collect a special ‘Seek not Hide’ sticker from the craft table in the cafe
3. Complete some of the colouring in sheets (also on the craft table)
4. Scan the QR codes on the information panels (there are panels in the cafe and in the garden). One of the QR codes leads to audio versions of the information.
5. Draw their own character on the back of the art guide and add it to the white Creature Board next to the craft table

Each sculpture invites visitors to interact with it in a different way. There are signs up next to each one about how visitors can do this.
